Accreditation

SACSCOC Accreditation (2018):
The Âé¶¹MD´«Ã½ is accredited by the  (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master, and doctoral degrees. The Âé¶¹MD´«Ã½ also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the status of the Âé¶¹MD´«Ã½ may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website (). 

 

AACSB Accreditation (2023):
The Robins School of Business is fully accredited at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Business and Accounting by the (AACSB). 

 

ABA Accreditation (2025):
The Âé¶¹MD´«Ã½ School of Law is fully accredited by the recognized standardizing agencies in the United States. It is a member of the Association of American Law Schools; it is on the approved lists of the and the Virginia State Board of Bar Examiners; and its Juris Doctor degree is fully accredited by the Regents of the University of the State of New York.

Although each state has its own requirements for admission to the bar, a law degree from the School of Law qualifies the holder to seek admission to the bar in any state in the nation and in the District of Columbia. 

 

Teacher Education and Educational Leadership Accreditation and Program Approval (2022):
The Teacher Education Program (School of Arts and Sciences & School of Professional and Continuing Studies) and Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Program (School of Professional and Continuing Studies) at the Âé¶¹MD´«Ã½ were awarded accreditation through TEAC Quality Principles through the  system for a period of seven years, from 10/1/2015-12/31/2022. In spring 2022, both programs completed a site visit with a joint CAEP and Virginia Department of Education team. The official recommendation for this re-accreditation was received from CAEP in fall 2022. CAEP accreditation does not cover individual education courses offered to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure, or other purposes. 

In 2021, the  re-approved the Âé¶¹MD´«Ã½’s education endorsement programs.  Additionally, the Board of Education approved new graduate programs in 2025. The Regulations Governing the Review and Approval of Education Programs in Virginia (8VAC20-543-40 and 8VAC20-543-60) require colleges and universities that offer programs for the preparation of professional school personnel to obtain program (endorsement area) approval from the Virginia Board of Education through the review of biennial reporting on accountability measures and program alignment with endorsement competencies.
